How to Use the Watchlist

The Watchlist is your personal high-priority tracker inside the Circadia Intelligence Platform (CIP). It lets you keep a closer eye on the patients you’re most concerned about — all in one convenient place.

Updated over 3 months ago

How the Watchlist Works

  • Customized patient list – You choose which patients to include.

  • Private view – Only you can see your Watchlist. It doesn’t affect other team members’ lists.

  • Streamlined format – Displays like the Clinical Tab but only shows the patients you’ve added.

  • Auto-updating – New vitals, Flags, and notes are pulled in automatically, so your Watchlist is always current.

Each patient row includes:

  • Patient information (name, room number, identifiers).

  • Latest vitals from Circadia + PCC.

  • Recent Flags (escalations and SBAR reports).

  • Notes or clinical updates.

Where to View the Watchlist

  • The Watchlist has its own dedicated tab in CIP.

  • Use it as a quick snapshot during huddles, handoffs, or weekend coverage.

  • Because it mirrors the Clinical Tab format, there’s no learning curve — just fewer patients to review.

How to Add Patients

You can add patients to your Watchlist in multiple ways:

  • From a Patient Profile – Open the profile and click Add to Watchlist.

  • From the Clinical Tab – Find the patient and click the + button next to their name.

  • From an SBAR Report – In the action bar, select Add to Watchlist.

  • Directly in the Watchlist Tab – Use the + Add Patient button.

Who to Add to Your Watchlist

The Watchlist works best when focused on your highest-priority patients. Common examples include:

  • Recently discharged or readmitted patients – Higher risk for early changes in condition.

  • Frequent fallers or mobility concerns – Monitor closely for safety.

  • Patients with recent condition changes – Especially those flagged in your Inbox.

  • High-risk patients identified in the Morning Report.

Duration of Watchlist Placement

  • Patients remain on your Watchlist for 7 days or until they are discharged.

  • If you need to monitor a patient longer, you can re-add them after 7 days.

  • This cycle ensures the Watchlist stays fresh and focused on current priorities.

Why the Watchlist Matters

  • Saves time – No need to search across multiple screens.

  • Improves focus – Keeps your most at-risk patients in one easy-to-review list.

  • Supports handoffs – Helps incoming staff quickly see who requires the closest monitoring.

  • Enhances safety – Ensures high-priority patients don’t get lost in the shuffle.
